Shreveport



Shreveport, the third largest city and the third largest metropolitan area in the US was founded in 1836 by the Shreve Town Company. Shreveport, Louisiana is in Caddo Parish and a commercial and cultural center of the Ark-La-Tex, the area where Arkansas, Louisiana, and Texas meet. is the third largest city and the third largest metropolitan area in the U.S. state of Louisiana. It is in Caddo Parish. It is also known as the “Gateway to East Texas.”
Shreveport has a transitional climate between the subtropical/humid conditions prevalent in the deep south and the continental climates of the Great Plains and Middle West. It receives abundant rainfall with annual rainfall over 51 inches. Though ice and sleet storms occur, weather conditions in winters usually remain mild in Shreveport. Summers are warm and humid with over 90 per cent of humidity level.
